Thank Goodness For Kindermusik

For the past couple of days I have rejuvenated myself at the Northeast Kindermusik Convention along with Leslie and Mary. I've taken away so much new and renewed information that I can not wait to jump back into teaching! Thank Goodness for Kindermusik!

Stefan and I were both welcomed by supportive educators, who went from just other colleagues to great friends and mothers I could bond with, in no time. We connected through songs, laughter, and danced with scarves. What other work conference encourages rolling around on the ground while singing songs with nonsensical words?! Thank Goodness For Kindermsuik!

We observed a live class on our second day. One timid child was overwhelmed by the energy of the waiting room which was filled with her energetic classmates and her teacher, who she would not even acknowledge. She refused to enter the class for a very long time, but finally felt confident enough to join in. She was just in time to sing a song and play some jingle bells, in a not so traditional way: laying on her back with her feet in the air! By the end of class, she was laughing and dancing with all the other children and ended class with a big hug for her teacher. Thank Goodness For Kindermusik!

Last week, Stefan and I started "Peek-a-Boo I Love You" summer adventure class. It was so much fun bouncing and singing with Gertie balls- Stefan's new favorite toy! He has had a great time holding, bouncing, and rolling the ball this week, building up all sorts of fine and gross motor skills. Not to mention having a new texture to touch and experience through his play and when I roll it on him for a little Gertie massage. It sounds silly, but I passed by the balls in the store the other day, because I didn't think he was old enough to get anything out of them yet. But, I guess I was wrong. Thank Goodness for Kindermusik!

Are there experiences you and your children would not have had if it had not been for Kindermuisk? I'd love to hear them! What has you saying, "Thank Goodness For Kindermusik!"
